One of the things that distinguishes YFMP from other garden or farm based programs locally and around the country is its primary focus on Youth Development, and secondary focus on Food and Food Systems. We believe successful and highly effective youth development work/outcomes will lead to positive food systems outcomes on a neighborhood level. By working to effectively empower youth to make positive change in the community in which they live, YFMP helps create space for youth to define their own success and challenges, many of them being measured through the food and food systems work that is done at YFMP.
YFMP uses the Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA) tool to measure and achieve researched based outcomes that have long term impact on youth.
